Adding TheDailyPolitical.com to your articles, blog entries, or other links

You can easily have TDP automagically syndicates your new articles.

By adding the widget below onto your article pages, it will automatically extract the link URL, title, and summary from your link and syndicate it into our breaking news section.

From there, you or other readers can read the link, claim it, and start voting and adding comments.

All you have to do is put this on each new article or blog entry you publish:

HTML widget code to place the large widget on your article pages

Here is the HTML for the large icon to copy and paste into your article pages:

Here are examples of how the large widget will appear on your page before and after the link is claimed

HTML widget code to place the small widget on your article pages

Here is how the small widget will appear:

That's it! So easy. The widget will do the rest.

Customize the widget

If you want to customize the widget, you can use the following fields:

parameter user value default value
(if user value is blank)
widget size small large small
link url url of the page on which
the widget is placed
title title tag of the url
summary meta description tag of the url
thumbnail url none
thumbnail source description none
widget width 18 pixels (small) 60 pixels (large)
widget height 18 pixels (small) 60 pixels (large)

Please remember that if you build these links manually, then you need to "url escape" the parameters TWICE. For example, to specify the url for http://somelink.com/ in javascript, you would set the url query parameter equal to: escape(escape('http://somelink.com/'));. This because some extended url encodings break the web server query parser...

Here is the script version (<script...) to add your article page that will generate the widget with submitting and voting options:

Here is the anchor href version (<a href...) that you can link to and click on directly:

Test it out: click me after you've filled out the form above (at least the url)
